176 - A Rough Start

Drawing a laundry basket and trying to keep multiple planes in the image is surprising complicated.  Attempting to do so with one of the characters wearing it as a hat only seems to make it even more tricky.  Anywho, I feel like it’s a fun challenge.

In other news, I started playing Ni No Kuni this last week & it really is an absolute joy to experience.  Granted, I have a great love of JRPGs & of Studio Ghibli... so take that as you will, but I already see why it got RPG of the Year on the VGX (even with that whole award show being kind of a joke).  As Jeff Cannata would say, the game has whimsy.  It captures the exuberance of the young boy who is the lead.  From his animations, to this voice acting, to his dialogue and reactions to things, he isn’t just a character who is supposed to be some kind of cardboard cutout that the story asked for.  I see little glimpses of things that my son would do in the tiniest details of the game.  There really is something that draws me into games that just make me grin as I play them.  It’s not something that I’ve found a ton of, but when it’s there it is absolutely delightful!
