PAX Prime is this weekend. You may remember from comics that I’ve done in the last few years how much it means to me. This is the first Prime that I haven’t made it to in 5 years. It’s a long story as to why it didn’t really work out for my wife or I to make it out to Seattle this time around, and it’s really for the best that we ended up being here... but it was still really disappointing to not be able to make it up there to be with all of the marvelous people that really make it home for me.
Well... it was super disappointing until a friend of mine made a voodoo doll of me to allow me to experience the show vicariously. She then took the doll around and had people take photos with it all over the place. Seeing “myself” with a bunch of my friends completely floored me. It just goes to show the kind of community that I am absolutely honored to be a part of. I could yammer on for pages about how much someone making a voodoo doll of me so that I get to experience the show from half of the country away is probably a metaphor for how amazing the show is, but I’ll just sit here and keep smiling about the fact that it happened and that people went along with it.
I love my friends. They’re pretty awesome.
