On Tuesday, the comic will be 5 years old. That fact didn’t really sink in until after I mentioned it at a panel that I went to on Saturday about getting your writing published in the lead up to NaNoWriMo 2015. Someone had asked about what you do if you have multiple projects going on in November & I chimed in about writing/drawing this and also writing for that for the last three years. Essentially, my answer was that if it’s important to you than you just do it. You parse your time however you need to to make the things that are important to you happen. It was only after I had mentioned how long I have been doing this little thing that you have graciously come here to read that I realized that I’ve consistently published something almost every week for 5 years. It’s been an obscene amount of work, but it’s been an absolute blast. Thank you all for that.

In other news, the Battlefront Beta has been this last weekend and I’ve had tremendously mixed feelings about it. I was telling my wife earlier today that I really really want to like it, but I’m having a hard time really finding a justification for buying it. Thankfully, I guess the beta has solved that problem?

Anywhober, let’s talk about for realzies thoughts. The real downside for me should have been obvious: I don’t like pvp games. That’s not really anything against the developers or the game, it’s just a preference thing. Despite that, I really wanted to get into it because Star Wars is pretty much my jam. It’s the thing that people get for me, gift wise, if they can’t think of anything else or if they see randomly somewhere & very kindly think of me (this is not a bad thing & I am 100% on board with this happening whenever it does... I gots me some stories of some really fun times when this has happened). The thing that has me even more torn is how much the developers seem to really get the Star Warsiness (should that be an i or a y in there?) of it. It is beautiful. The sounds are perfect. Getting force yanked by Vader is awesome... if unfortunate when its happening to you.

I just wish that I was having fun while playing it. It’s probably the pvpness of it, but I spend most of each game tense and frustrated at some guy across the map killing me without me realizing that I had been seen. I can’t really blame the game for that, but I just don’t see myself paying to frustrate myself that much... even if each game is also punctuated with a bunch of moments with me going “MAN, THIS IS SO COOL” in relation to all of the sights and sounds for the worlds that they’ve created.
