There was a bit more Tarantinoness in The Hateful Eight than just the fact that it had an Overture at the beginning and an Intermission. Those things, on their own, were very much classic Tarantino in and of themselves in that they were callbacks to an older form of cinema that just aren’t really done anymore... which has been one of his things for a while now. But, the movie on its own kinda felt like a Tarantino ‘Best of’ movie. It had the limited locales of Reservoir Dogs, the timeframe that called out the rampant racism of Django Unchained, and the witty dialogue and ultra-violence of... pretty much all of his movies. I know that I said this last week, but I feel like I should reiterate it here: if you’re a fan of Tarantino, I cannot recommend seeing the movie in 70mm highly enough.

In other news, I have some very fun things that may be coming down the pipeline for me that I am tremendously excited about. I know how frustrating that is when people just kinda dangle that in front of you, but I’m just going to be that guy today. Not all of it has to do with the comic, but one thing specifically hopefully will & I’m elated about that one.
