Logan was, in fact, very very good. I would content that it is also, somehow, less of a kid-friendly movie than Deadpool was. It actually managed to be way more violent. A lot more violent. To me that kinda makes sense, though. Wolverine is not a fun-loving guy and the other X-Men movies tried to show as much of that as they could for the PG-13 movies, but this- as they say- popped the claws.

In addition to being extremely violent, it also managed to delve into some decently intriguing subjects. I particularly found the concept of someone who is aging, themselves, taking care of an ailing father figure. The trailers paint picture of a Charles Xavier that is not doing well and that is certainly true in the movie. I won’t go into how because I don’t want to spoil anything, but I do appreciate the movie showing how they interact while Logan acts as his former teacher’s caregiver. The more that I think back on the movie, the more there seems to be underneath the thick outer layer of graphic violence.
