NaNo update: I’m at 28 of 50k and I have FINALLY introduced all of my main characters. The book is taking on good progress and I’m excited to see where it goes. I say that because nothing that I’ve ever written has completely gone in the direction that I’ve plotted out. The thing that I really enjoy about that is that the stories have always been better than my original plans for them. The changes, at least so far, this time around haven’t been really major but they have really helped to make the characters better rounder. I’ll take that.
Then there’s Fallout... it’s wonderful. The crafting system is ridiculous and I’m pretty sure that I’ll be spending the rest of my life adapting my guns and armor and such. It’s also been delightful to just kinda mosey around the wasteland and see what kinds of interesting people I will meet... and then shoot with a laser rifle. Repeatedly. I’m not super far in the story yet, as I’ve been writing a little bit over the last week, but I imagine that there will be the occasional person that I’ll come across that I won’t turn into radioactive ash, but so far there haven’t been too many. I’m rather excited to see what happens next.
