It’s that time of year again when all of the discussions start swarming around about the best game of the year. If you had asked me a month ago, I’d probably have said that Destiny’s Taken King expansion should have that honor for taking an already good game and giving us something truly fantastic. However, Fallout 4 has to take that particular cake for me now that I’ve played it a decent amount.  Having only played for about 15 hours, there is still gobs of things to do and I plan on spending dozens more hours exploring the Commonwealth. The thing that really clinched it for me, however, was something that occurred to me just yesterday: I am yet to find a Francis moment. There was a meme that went around before the game came out where Todd Howard, the game’s director, said something to the effect of finding all of those crappy things in the game and just taking them out. It sounds like the most simple thing in the world to do, but I’m yet to really find another game that really has hit that sweet spot like Fallout 4: at least not this year.
